Beckett Montgomery; Sexy, tattooed, NYPD detective and Shanelle (Elle); Shy, beautiful, nurse.Their paths will cross when they least expect it, but it won’t be all sunshine and roses.

Shanelle lives alone in a safe apartment building, or at least she thinks it is. She meets her neighbor Andrew and he asks her out. He seems like a nice guy, so she decided to give it a shot. After their date though, she felt no connection, but Andrew feels differently.

One night she wakes up to someone in her apartment. She calls 911 and here enters Beckett. (Who just happens to be the hot man she saw at a club a few nights ago but didn’t talk to.)

Beckett hadn’t been able to get Shanelle off his mind since he saw her that night at the club. The minute he walked in the apartment and saw it was her, he had this overwhelming need to protect her.

Shanelle and Beckett don’t get off to the best start. Things were said that’s shouldn’t have been and feelings were hurt. Plus, Andrew keeps bugging Shanelle for a second date.

What happens when you think you know someone and they turn out to be a totally different person?

I really enjoyed Beckett and Shanelle. I felt that they were the perfect balance for each other. He was strong and protective while she was sweet and loving. I love how people from Rush were in this book (I absolutely love Lex) and I can’t wait for Knoxville’s book.
