My Review:
Paxon and Cleo are not your typical married couple. They haven’t seen each other in 11 years.
Why?
When Paxton (Torch now) came home from the war, he was a different man. He knew that if he stayed with Cleo, that he would hurt her more than he already had, so he left.
Years later, when his club has been threatened, he feels that her life could be in danger too. He finds her in order to protect her, his sweet, innocent wife, but she isn’t the same girl he left 11 years ago.
Cleo is shocked to see Paxton for the first time in 11 years. She has always loved him and was never able to get over him fully. Now that he’s back, she is more confused than ever. She hates him for what he did to her but she also still loves him.
When Paxton decides he is going to get her back, he does whatever he needs to do, including kind of kidnapping her.
Can they rebuild their relationship after 11 years of nothing? Can Cleo ever trust him again after learning about his new life with the MC?
This is not my first Hayley Faiman book but it is my first book from this series, which can be read out of order.
This book was back and forth for me. At times I enjoyed it and other times I wanted to throw it across the room.
I think that Cleo and Paxton had a story about how true love never dies, but some of the things that were said and doe during this book, weren’t my favorite. I love MC books and I know they are rough and tough books, but something in this one didn’t click for me.
I will still defiantly read this author. Just because I didn’t connect in this book, doesn’t mean I won’t connect with another book.
With that, I give this book 3 1/2 Stars.
