March wasn’t a bad book month. I got 12 books read. Some of them I loved and some of them were just okay.
Here is my March book list and the reviews I put with each book.
Vlad- K. Webster and Ker Dukey 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! What a read!
Captivating, heart-stopping, dark, bloody, the list could go on and on.
If you have read the last book in the Pretty Dolls Series, Pretty Broken Dolls, you were introduced the the V Games and you met Vlad, but at an older age.
Vlad is the oldest brother in the Vasiliev family. After losing his brother Viktor two months ago in the V Games, he is still trying to find his way and make the people pay who took his brother from him. (This ends up being a plot twist but if you have read Pretty Broken Dolls, you already know this twist in the book.)
Irina is the youngest sister in the Votrov family. When her older sister Diana is set to be married to Vlad, (women are meant to be married off to breed sons and to strengthen family bonds) Irina moves with her to Vlad’s house per her sisters request. Irina has always had eyes for Vlad but he has never noticed her. She is a “shadow”, always in her sister Diana’s shadow.
“My gaze searches for him. Vlad Vasiliev. Strong Formidable. Beautiful.”
Irina doesn’t know how to react when she finds out her sister is marrying Vlad. Why not her? Why can’t she be the one to marry him? They have this underlying connection that she can’t explain. When Irina and Diana move into Vlad’s house, things start to change.
“When you’re staring at the sun, you can’t see a shadow”
As the story progresses, the connection between Vlad and Irina also progresses. Lines will be crossed. Hearts will get involved. Vlad and Irina have entered a dangerous game. A cat and mouse game.
As you learn all the families and their dynamics, you learn that Vlad’s life is more complicated than you could have ever imagined. People in this life kill others for fun, they stab each other in the back (literally), they lie, they cheat, and they steal.
But in this book….who is cheating, who it lying, who will be killed?
Vlad is an amazing book. It is dark and dangerous but amazing and will leave you wanting more. This book ends with a cliffhanger, leading into Ven’s book (You will meet Ven during this book.)
K.Webster and Ker Dukey have an amazing partnership. When they write together, they make masterpieces. They know exactly are far to push you during their books without taking you too far over the edge.
This is totally a 5 star book!!
Devils & Rye – Alta Hensley 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow! That’s all I can say about this book.
This book made me tense in my seat. It made me cry. I had to put it down a few times and then come back to it a few minutes later. The ride this book takes you on is totally worth it!
This book was more than I could have asked for.
Alec is one of the owning members of the Spiked Rose. When an old friend send his daughter to work there, Alec is asked to watch over her.
Makayla is excited for this new opportunity she has been given. After living a very sheltered life for the first 20 years of her life, Makayla is ready to spread her wings and fly. But life won’t be that easy.
After receiving a letter from Makayla’s dad, Alec is asked to do more than just watch over her, he is asked to protect her and keep her safe. Why? Her dad’s past has caught up to him. A past that Alec knows all too well, The Iron Colt Brotherhood. A secret society of rich southern men.
Makayla is stunned when Alec says they have to leave. She doesn’t understand why. All she knows is that Alec was asked to keep her safe and that’s what he plans on doing.
Alec and Makayla have an instant connection. Alec has known Makayla since she was a little girl and knows her dad would not approve of his feeling towards her, but he can’t help it, he wants what he wants.
What happens when Alec’s plan to keep Makayla safe doesn’t work the way he wants it too? What happens when Alec has to turn into a person he always told himself he would never be?
THIS BOOK!!!! The feels this book gave me were crazy. There were times I wanted to yell and scream at Alta because her writing was driving me crazy. A good kind of crazy. The kind of crazy where you say “NO WAY” or “WHAT IN THE WORLD IS HAPPENING” but you can’t stop reading because you have to know what happens next.
This book has a quick time line and an insta-love, but it works. I don’t feel like it was rushed. I think the story ran very smooth and everything clicked.
This book is dark. This book talks about subjects and has scenes that could be hard for some to read. If you even doubt that you could read this book, this book might not be for you.
Real Dirty – Meghan March 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and Real Sexy – Meghan March 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ripley and Boone don’t meet under normal circumstances. Ripley is a very hard working woman who just can’t seem to catch a break. Boone is fresh out of a relationship where is girlfriend married someone behind his back.
When these two lost souls run into each other, can they help each other find themselves?
Meghan know how to write a book that keeps you wanting more.
Renner’s Rules – K. Webster 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you are looking for a fast paced, taboo read…then this book is for you.
Compared to some other books by K. Webster, this one is tame.
It’s a principal/student romance but…. it’s not typical. I mean really, is anything K. Webster do typical? NOPE!!
When Adam gets a call from on old military friend, he has no idea what he is getting himself into. He is asked to help his friend out by letting his teenage daughter (who is 18) stay with him for the rest of the school year. She is wild and he doesn’t know what to do anymore.
Elma is not happy. Why would her dad send her away? Why doesn’t he want her there? But when she meets Adam, who is controlling and rude but hot as hell, she knew that this is going to be a very long few months.
What happened when lines start to blur? What happens when what you think you know as truth turns out to be a lie?
Adam and Elma are not your typical principal/student romance. They have a connection outside of the school. K. Webster does a great job at keeping this taboo without it being creepy.
Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
Law and Beard – Lani Lynn Vale 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Where to begin……I really enjoyed Steel’s (Big Papa) book. It was fun and flirty but still had that edge that Lani always puts in her books. When you know something bad is going to happen but you never know when.
I loved Winnie from the start. She was strong and independent and did whatever she could to try and give her kids a good life.
Steel stole my heart. Steel made a promise to keep an eye on Winnie’s house for a friend, knowing that she was actually telling him to keep an eye on Winnie and the kids.
When Steel ends up having some run-ins with Winnie’s daughter Conleigh, you can tell that something is blooming between Winnie and Steel. The way Steel is with her kids tells so much about how he is as a man.
But they will not have the typical relationship for a few reasons. I can’t spoil the book but you will not believe what one reason is.
Steel and Winnie will have many hardships on their road to a relationship. Will they be able to get past those hardships or will they be torn apart?
Demons – J.L.Drake 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book starts with a bang and stays strong the entire time!
In the second book in the Devil’s Reach Trilogy, you learn much more about Tess’s history and more about Trigger’s past. Both have had rough up-bringing’s but those tough times make them who they are today.
Demon’s is darker than Trigger. It’s gory, dark, amazing, shocking, almost any word you can think of you will find or feel while reading this book.
This book will shock you. It will make you think “NO WAY” or “WHY DID I NOT SEE THAT”.
If you have read other J.L. Drake books, you will get to see some old favorites in this book.
This book does end with a cliffhanger, DARN YOU J.L. DRAKE!!!
But I am so excited and so ready for the third and final book in this trilogy!
Endorsed – Marni Mann 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you are looking to a fast, sweet read, then this is the book for you. (I read it over the course of 1 day)
Jack and Samantha meet 8 years earlier when her brother was drafted to the NFL and Jack ends up being his agent. They had a few days together before everyone had to do home.
Things did not end smoothly for the two, so when they see each other for the first time 8 years later, Samantha is not ready for it.
Jack see what he has missed out on. A beautiful woman he wants to make his own. But it’s not going to be that easy.
There are secrets that haven’t been told yet. Secrets that could make or break them. What will happen when those secrets are revealed?
Jack and Samantha have a very sweet story. It’s also very HOT at times!!
Marni does a great job telling their story but also keeping it hot and fresh.
I figured out the plot twist by the end of the first chapter but even though I knew what it was, it didn’t ruin the story for me at all.
Great job Marni!!
Mr. Blakely – K. Webster 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you are looking for a quick sexy read, Quinn and Ava’s story is for you.
When Ava is hired as a babysitter for Quinn’s sons, she had no idea the man she would be working for would I’d be so good looking. When Quinn hired Ava, he had no idea she would make him feel feeling he thought were gone.
This is a quick read with a HEA. Totally what I needed today
Through Her Eyes – Ava Harrison 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was not my typical read. I’m a girl who likes grit and dark, but I surprisingly really liked this read. Aria is on a journey. A journey to find herself and Chase will help her do that. That’s about all I can say without giving everything away but if you like a love story that will touch your heart, this is a book for you.
Definite – Kaylee Ryan 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
When you see my 3 stars, don’t think I didn’t enjoy this book because I did. I gave this book 3 stars because I just could not connected very well with this book.
Lauren and Tristan have a really sweet story. You can see the love they have for each other and it is expressed many times during the book.
If you are looking for a sweet, romantic read with a HEA, then this is the read for you.
I am the kind of reader that needs a bit more angst in my books. I need a bit more grit.
Like I said above, this is a good read, I just didn’t connect with it.
Taken – Rebecca Brooke 2⭐️⭐️
I loved the first 2 books in this series. This book, I did not connect with what-so-ever.
Great short reviews, I haven’t read any of these books yet but they all looks and sounds absolutely fantastic and right up my alley. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post and putting these books on my radar.
