Blurb:
Coach Everett Long has a chip on his shoulder.
Working every day with the man who stole his
fiancée leaves him pissed and on edge.
His temper is volatile and his attitude sucks.
River Banks is a funky-styled runner
with a bizarre past.
Starting over at a new school was supposed to
be easy…but she should have known better.
She likes to antagonize and tends to go after
what she’s not supposed to have.
When the arrogant bully meets the strong-willed
brat, it sparks an illicit attraction.
Together, they heat up the track with
longing and desire.
Everything about their chemistry is wrong.
So why does it feel so right?
She’s a hurdle in his way and, dear God does
he want to jump her.
Will she be worth the risk or
will he fall flat on his face?

My Review: 4 stars
Before you go into this book, know that it is a TABOO book and is not for everyone. That being said…you have been warned.
I love K. Webster and her taboo treats. They are quick, easy reads and they always have a sexy element to them.
If you have read some of Webster’s other books, such as Renner’s Rules or Ex-Rated Attraction, you will know some of the characters that appear in this book. Plus you would have meet Coach Long before.
Coach Long is a high school math teacher and the track coach. His life isn’t the way he thought it would turn out. Why? His ex-finance was cheating with a co-worker. But his life turns upside down even more when he meets River, a new student at school and someone who wants to be on his track team.
River Banks is an eight-teen year old girl who just moved with her parents. Why did she move? You have to read to find that part out, but it plays into the story a lot.
River and Coach do not get off on the right foot at first. But after a few days, everything changes.
This book is about wanting someone you aren’t supposed to want or can’t have. About breaking the rules to have that someone.
This book was a quick read. It was simple, with a good taboo story, and it kept my attention.
Thumbs up to K. Webster on this one!

Hiya, even though the protagonists are above the age of consent it would still put me off that it is a school romance – I am fine with colleges but schools are an area I just can’t go to. Having said that- from your review, were this to take place in a college setting, I would read it.

So this not being my genre, and having never read this series, I have no idea what a Taboo book is like. Hints?

A taboo book is something that goes against the norm.
Like step-siblings romance or Teacher/ student.
