And the Four Sons Series is off to a GREAT start!!!
Nixon, Nixon, Nixon.
Is he a psychopath?
This is what he is trying to figure out during this book.
Nixon’s books gives us a flashback of the last 2 years or so. His book explains what life was like right after his father died and how the boys and Rowan survived.
Nixon’s story touches my heart but I can see the evil in him. His evil is different than Jaxson Wheeler’s evil. Nixon is smart and cunning, noting he was able to get Jaxson to do his dirty work.
Poor Rowan. She is a lost soul. After Eric’s death at the hand of her father, she doesn’t know what to do. The Pearson boys are there to protect her. To support her. But Nixon is the one she leans on the most. She has always felt a connection to Nixon. She knows that he is her soulmate but she doesn’t know if it is too late for that now.
There are some twists in this book that I wasn’t expecting. You learn about some things that happened before Nixon’s mother “left”. There are some hints about what could happen in the next three books.
I can’t wait to see how this story plays out!!
I went into this book blind and I am so glad I did!!
This is my first book by L.M. Halloran and sometimes I get nervous reading new authors because I have no idea what to expect.
This book is about a woman named London Limerick. A young woman restarting her life after the death of her husband.
This book is written in 1st person POV. Most of the book I read have dual POV, but the first person POV was written extremely well and from the first chapter, I was sucked into the story.
During the book you have chapters labeled “Then” and “Now”. Most of the book is set in the “Then” and it makes you understand that is going on in the “Now”.
London has lived a hard life for the past few years. She is running and hiding from her past. When she goes for an interview at a new bar that is opening, she had no idea that it was a BDSM bar. Although she was shocked, she needed the money and after growing up with hippie parents, nudity was no issue with her.
What she didn’t expect was Dominic Cross…who just happens to also be a Dom. A man with piercing eyes and an amazing body, but a terrible attitude. Dominic makes it known that workers don’t have sexual relations with each other, he’s one of the owners of the bar. But it doesn’t take long for London to get under his skin and for him to get under hers.
Will Dominic break the rules he set for his club? If he does, can London handle him as a Dom? What happens when London’s past catches up with her?
This story will suck you in from page one. I read the entire book in less than a day.
This is my first book by L.M. Halloran but it will not be my last.
4 stars
I liked my first impression of Cora. I felt she was strong and independent. She wanted to do things for herself and didn’t want to rely on anyone else. But Cora has a few issues. Issues that come from an event she went through when she was little.
I liked Coke from the first time we meet him. That poor man and his WITCH of an ex-wife. I felt so bad going through the story and learning what he went through. He was such a strong man for dealing with her.
Coke tried to keep his distance from Cora. He knew she wanted different things in life and he was trying his best to let her live her life with messing it up. But what doesn’t always happen, does it? Sometimes we can’t stay away from the ones we want.
This book will take you on a wild ride. Can’t we have a happy book without anything crazy happening?!? Of course not….then it wouldn’t be a Lani book.
You get to see a lot of characters from other books in this one. I love when old characters re-appear!
I enjoyed Coke and Cora’s story. It was sweet and refreshing to see an alpha-male be a really good guy!
Book 1 in the series (out of 12) was a very good start to this series.
Parker Ellis (Dreammaker), Bo (Lovemaker), and Royce (Moneymaker) are the three men that run a company called International Guy. This company helps women become the best them.
In book one, Parker and the guys are called to Paris to help Sophie. She has just taken over the company her father created.
Sophie is shy, quiet, and not sure of herself. When the International Guys show up, they change everything for her.
This book was more than I excepted. It was fun, flirty, had some sexy moments….but overall….a good, fun read.
New York City. The Big Apple. And the next city that Parker is going to conquer. And this time, without his team.
This book starts with Parker hiring an assistant and you are going to LOVE her. She is AWESOME!!
Parker then head to NYC to with the Skyler Paige. Skyler is a top-grossing actress but she has most her muse. She doesn’t want to act. She doesn’t want to model. She doesn’t want that life anymore.
Parker is hired to help her find her muse again. Parker knows that this job will be a tough one for many reasons. But he is determined to help her.
This second book is sexy and a bit more serious at times than the first one but it is still great.
On to Copenhagen and taming a princess.
Princess Christina Kaarberg. She is supposed to be the next queen of Denmark, but she refuses to marry Price Sven, saying her sister Elizabeth should marry him instead. But why? She loves Sven. Sven loves her.
Princess Christina has been out partying and acting up. She isn’t usually like that. Something is driving her behavior and Parker is determined to figure it out.
What Parker uncovers is heart breaking. Sven’s family has been though a lot lately and Christian thinks she is doing the right thing.
Will you agree with her point of view or Parkers?
Plus….Sophie make an appearance in this book. Things are heating up with her and Parker, or at least she thinks they are.
Can’t wait for the next book!!!
This book had my emotions everywhere.
Wrigley and George drove me CRAZY in this book. They played a cat and mouse game that made me want to scream at times.
They have a crazy story.
Baseball game – I’d witnessed my first home run ever, and I was officially addicted to baseball. Or maybe it was the man. I didn’t know. But addiction was in there somewhere.
Vegas wedding – because a Vegas wedding ALWAYS works out!
Baby- We all love babies
Crazy sister-in-law – This will play a big part in the story.
And then everything changes!!
“George?” I lifted my hand and let my fingers trail through her hair. “Yeah?” “Do you know the Muffin Man?” I found myself grinning. “The Muffin Man?” “The one on Dreary Lane.” I burst out laughing. “I kinda like you,” I wheezed. She turned her face into my chest. “I kinda like you, too.”
I feel like this story was more of an insta-love story. They moved really fast…..His grandma helped that happen though. I loved his grandma.
There were times in this book I wanted to cry. Times I wanted to yell. And times I laughed.
I enjoyed this book. There were times I wanted to strangle both George and Wrigley for being stubborn and hard-headed. There were times I felt both characters were a bit immature.
I think readers will be able to relate to this story.
This story is about finding that one person that makes your heart jump but losing them and working to get them back.
This story shows that relationships are hard and they take work. It also shows not to take others for granted.
This is the second book in the Empathy series and I was excited to learn Ryan’s story.
This book is told from 3 POV’s: Ryan, Blake, and Melody.
Ryan has been released from the mental hospital he has been in for the last 18 years. They said he’s “cured” and “fixed” but he knows better.
What he didn’t know was that going into the outside world and meeting one certain person would change everything.
Blake has no idea how his brother was about to get out of the hospital but he knows there is no way his brother is “fixed”. He is determined to keep his family safe from his brother, no matter what.
This book was a great follow up to Empathy and it leaves you wanting more….which you can get in Vacant.
Before you go into this book, know that it is a TABOO book and is not for everyone. That being said…you have been warned.
I love K. Webster and her taboo treats. They are quick, easy reads and they always have a sexy element to them.
If you have read some of Webster’s other books, such as Renner’s Rules or Ex-Rated Attraction, you will know some of the characters that appear in this book. Plus you would have meet Coach Long before.
Coach Long is a high school math teacher and the track coach. His life isn’t the way he thought it would turn out. Why? His ex-finance was cheating with a co-worker. But his life turns upside down even more when he meets River, a new student at school and someone who wants to be on his track team.
River Banks is an eight-teen year old girl who just moved with her parents. Why did she move? You have to read to find that part out, but it plays into the story a lot.
River and Coach do not get off on the right foot at first. But after a few days, everything changes.
This book is about wanting someone you aren’t supposed to want or can’t have. About breaking the rules to have that someone.
This book was a quick read. It was simple, with a good taboo story, and it kept my attention.
Thumbs up to K. Webster on this one!
Luke and Tess have a sweet story. They have an instant connection and their relationship moves fast. But things aren’t easy for them. They are both working at a summer camp and workers are not allowed to have relationships.
Can they keep their relationship a secret or will they be caught?
For a story that is only about 70 pages, it wasn’t bad.
Tara and Preston didn’t have your typical office romance.
Tara HATED Preston. He was a terrible boss. Overbearing and demanding. She had no life to herself.
What she didn’t know was that he secretly liked her and was trying to do his best to keep his distance.
What happens when Tara hands in her two week notice?
Will Preston be able to convince her to stay or will he lose her forever?
This was a good read. I read it in about a day. It was a light read and that was what I needed right now.
Hayden and Katie’s story is a story that is told in the present and the past.
Hayden, the oldest brother, is tasked with taking care of his family after the death of this father. He is also left in charge of his father’s company. Something he didn’t want but now he has stepped up and made the company even more profitable.
Hayden is selfish, spoiled, and unapologetic. And he knows it. Along with dealing with his father’s death, he is also dealing with Trevor. He knows Trevor is lying and he thinks he as the information to catch him up in his lies. But what Hayden doesn’t count on is meeting Katie.
Katie comes into the picture the night Lucy is drugged and Rowan has her baby. Katie is Lucy’s best friend and has no idea what she is walking into with the Pearson brothers. Especially when Hayden comforts her out of nowhere when she was no one else to turn to.
Hayden and Katie will have a story about love and loss. About trying to forgive someone for their mistakes.
As their story evolves, you learn more about the other brothers. You learn more about the Pearson brothers past and you see possible storylines for the future.
Overall, this story was really good. I think Hayden’s character grew a lot during this book and that Katie’s character was very well written.
I can’t wait for Brock and Camden’s books.
This was a cute read. This book does have a story that takes place in Milan but a lot of the story is about Parker’s relationship with Skyler.
Can they handle jealously? Can they handle being so far apart? Read to find out!
WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.
Please, please, please…. listen to this warning. I love dark books and there were a few parts that were hard for me to read.
With that being said……. WOW!!!!
This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last.
Caleb is out for revenge. Revenge on a man that ruined his life. But in order to get that revenge, Caleb needs to find a woman. The women will be in the middle of this plan. The problem…. this woman is not going to be doing this willingly.
“People often believed they were safer in the light, thinking monsters only came out at night.”
Caleb needs to find a woman to sale to this man in order to act out his plan.
And he finds that in Livvie.
Livvie has no idea what has happen to her when she wakes up in the back of a van, but she knows it isn’t good.
Until she sees him, a man she met earlier, Caleb. But he is not going to be her savior. He is going to be her “master”.
Livvie (kitten) and Caleb (master) have this back and forth. Caleb has to get Livvie to the place where she will listen and obedient, especially for her new owner in a few weeks. These parts of the book are not easy to read. They are dark and twisted.
“I hated him, but I didn’t either. And I didn’t understand anything anymore, least of all myself”
Livvie starts to wonder if she is getting Stockholm’s. She starts to wonder what life without Caleb would be like.
What happens when Caleb starts to feel something he has never felt before? What happens when Livvie tries to escape?
Everything will change.
The reason I am giving this book 4 stars is because there was not cliffhanger warning. But I am excited to see how the story plays out.
Liam and Eden have a very interesting story. It’s a story about doing what you have to in order to protect those you love.
This story covers a lot of content. But if you stick t you it’s worth it.
3 stars
This is my first book by Piper Frost and it was an okay read for me.
This story is about life-long friends who never admit their true feelings towards each other.
Tommy and Affton want different things in life and neither wants to bring the other one down.
The good and the not so good:
The Good:
The story was something that could actually happen. The characters had real flaws.
I liked that it was dual POV.
Some very good sex scenes.
The Not So Good:
I felt like parts of the story were rushed.
I never felt a connection between the characters.
Overall: This book just did not keep my attention. I struggled through it and never really connected with it.
So…..I gave this book 3 stars. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the best. I think it had a good story line. There were a few good sexy scenes. Liam seemed to be a very good looking guy while Andra seems like she would have been a very pretty women.
Now to what I didn’t like. The same phrase was used a few too many times. I know it was a short story but I felt there wasn’t really any character development at all.
So this was just a so/so book for me.
I gave this book 3 and here is why.
Zander and Eden didn’t live up to my expectations in this book.
I felt there could have been more….. I’m not sure but I just needed more of something.
Was it still a good story… yes. Did it have some good scenes…. yes.
I just needed more.
This was a very short read, 50 pages or so.
So here is why I gave it 3 Stars.
I felt that even though it was only 50 pages… there could have been a little bit more of a story line.
2 stars
I have read this author and her work before but I just could not connect with this book. This book just didn’t not keep my attention.
