Friday 5: Top Books To Read In A Day

Sometimes, we get the chance to have an entire day to read. And when we get those days, why not try and read an entire book. Some of these books are longer than others….but once you get started, you won’t want to put it down!!

Here are my top 5 books to read in one day.

Blurb:

Her time is over.
Things are looking up.
She’s dirty and ugly.
He’s wicked but handsome.
Six months to toy with her.
Six months of vacation and a ton of money.
I’ll hurt her beyond repair.
I’ve been through much worse.
She’s difficult to control and doesn’t obey.
I’m done submitting to anyone or anything in this life.
I should hate her.
I should hate him.
The game has changed.
I will win.
Dirty Ugly Toy is a novel that blurs the lines of right and wrong, deals with abuse, contains dubious consent, and adult subject matter. If you are sensitive to violent sexual situations, the book may not be suitable for you. Some parts of this book are not easy to read and are not intended for everyone. However, those that keep an open mind and stick with it will not be disappointed.

My Review: 5 stars

dirty toyHoly cow!!!
Just when I think K. Webster can’t shock me…. she does!
Braxton and Jessica meet very unconventionally.
She’s dirty and unkept. He’s well dressed and rich.
When Jessica ends up taking a deal from Braxton, she doesn’t realize what she is getting into.
Braxton thinks he’s is control but he will soon learn different.
When Jessica’s past returns and Braxton’s secrets are revealed, will Jessica stay or run away? Will she get the chance to run before it’s too late?
Amazing!!! That’s all I can say. You don’t want to miss out on this book!!

Blurb:

I take you.
To honor and obey.
Till death do us part.
This is my solemn vow.
I am caught in the madness of a deep obsession. Stolen away to become his perfect and dutiful wife.
Trapped in a twisted and dark courtship. Forced and trained in the wifely duties of an obedient bride.
I am his.
Captive ever after…

My Review: 4 stars

What a plot twist!!!!!
Demi Wayne has not had an easy life. Her father died when she was a baby and her mother is on death row. Demi is just trying to make her way through life.
When a regular customer, Viv, at the diner Demi works at says she wants her to meet her son, Pope Montgomery, Demi is hesitant. Viv slips up at tells Demi that Pope just got it of prison, but that he’s a good guy. Of course all mothers think their children are good people.
One thing leads to another and Demi finds herself tied to a chair in the basement of a house in the middle of the woods.
Who did this? Why is she there?
Demi thank she knows the answers but when the truth is revealed, it’s way darker than she ever thought.
I went into this book thinking one thing and got something completely different. I was totally shocked.
Demi, Pope, and Viv will have a crazy, heartbreaking ride in this book.
The plot twist will make you say “What the *^%#!!!
This is my favorite Alta Hensley book to date. I was at the edge my seat the entire time, not knowing what was going to happen.
I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

Blurb:

Evi Devil.
Yes, that is really my name.
The irony is not lost on me.
I was created from two evil souls and have the name to prove it.
Devil worshipers, perverts, murderer. Is all terms used to describe the parents I refuse to remember.
My mind will not allow me to.
And why would I want to?
One born with dirty blood running through her veins can never truly be clean from its murky hue.
No matter what they try to tell me happened in my past, my mind denies me access, therefore how can I know it is true?
How can I believe that is what I am born from?
Glimpses of my past haunt me, the screams of terror echo in the silent darkness of my memories, trying to remind me that my Mother went from room to room butchering our family.
I have learned from scars that I suffered abuse and that my Father and siblings were not my Mother’s only victims.
Hearing what they tell me.
Reading the words printed in the papers. None of it can prepare me for what’s to come.
My biggest lesson is learning that some memories we suppress for a reason.

My Review: 5 stars

Do you ever read a book and think “I know what happened”. That’s what I did with this book and I was totally wrong!!
Ker is an evil genius. The plot twist in this book was crazy.
I don’t want to give anything away but if you like dark and crazy, this book is for you!!!

Blurb:

I was fourteen when I met him, danced with him, and fell for him.
I was sixteen when Ryder left me with a forbidden promise.
Now I’m twenty, and he’s back, but he has a secret.
I walked out as the boy Piper had loved for far too long.
Now I’m back as a man who’s broken, angry, and flawed.
Yet, each time she looks at me, it’s as if I’m perfect.
Can we have a second chance at love?
Or will our next dance be our last?

My Review: 4 stars

Piper and Ryder….two people who were not supposed to like each other. Piper, the best friends little sister. Ryder, the boy from the wrong side of the tracks.
They meet when they are teenagers and bonded over their love of dance. They played a cat and mouse game until Ryder moved away, taking Pipers heart with him.
Years went by before Ryder came back. But he wasn’t the same Ryder. He was broken. But why?
There are two plot twists in this book and I didn’t see either one of them coming.
Dani Rene tells a story about forgiving yourself and forgiving others in order to live your best life.
This story is very touching and it will probably make you cry at least once.
Great job!!

Blurb:

I’ll stop at nothing to own her.
I’m a collector of dolls.
All kinds of dolls.
So beautiful and sexy, they become my art.
So perfect and flawless, my art galleries are flooded by the wealthy to gaze upon my possessions with envy.
So fragile and delicate, I keep them tucked away for safety.
The dark and torrid tales of Drayton’s Dolls run rampant through the rich and famous, and all but a few are true.
Normally I share my dolls for others to play with or watch on display.
But not my special doll.
No, not her.
Ivy is the most precious doll of all.
She’s mine. All mine.

My Review: 4 stars

When I first went into this book, I was a bit nervous. I really enjoyed the first two books, but this book seemed like it could be a bit more taboo. Don’t get me wrong, I love my dark, taboo reads. I just wasn’t sure what I was going to be getting with this read.
When Ivy needs a new job, Victor Drayton steps in to save the day. He offers her a spot as one of his Drayton’s Dolls. Ivy knows that the Dolls are super sexy and also kind of taboo. She knows that the pay is good and she needs the money. When she takes Victor up on his offer, she never could have expected what she was walking into.
Victor Drayton is known for his world famous Drayton Dolls. When Ivy needs a job, he can’t resist giving her the opportunity. What he is not sure of is if she can handle it. He thinks she would be an amazing doll, but for some reason, he feels different about her than any of his other dolls.
As time goes on, feelings start to develop. But those feelings could end up messing everything up.
When tragedy strikes, will Ivy be able to survive? Will Drayton be strong enough to do what is needed to keep everyone safe?
Like I said earlier, I was a bit nervous going into this book. But once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. I loved Drayton and his dolls. I loved this relationship with Ivy, even though there were times when I was like “Stop being an ass”.
This is a series you don’t want to miss if you like dark, taboo reads.
