My Review: 4 stars 

Possible Spoilers and Cliffhanger Alert! 

This is my first book from Eva Charles and I can say I was not disappointed!

Gabrielle never expected JD (Julian) Wilder to re-enter her life. After years of being apart, and not by her doing, he randomly shows back up the night his father wins the presidency.

Gabrielle has known JD since she was little. Her mom used to work for his family. But she knows he is up to no good when he walks into her hotel. And she was right.

JD Wilder always gets what he wants and he wants Gabrielle back in his life for more than one reason. He gives her a business proposition, one he knows won’t turn down because someone she loves depends on this deal.

Gabrielle agrees to the proposition but things don’t work out the way JD plans.

Gabrielle is not happy about this proposition but does what she needs to do for a person she loves. But Gabrielle doesn’t know the entire story. She doesn’t know the main reason JD showed back up. And he won’t completely tell her.

But what happens when random, weird things start happening around Gabrielle’s hotel? Will JD be able to find out who is messing with Gabrielle or will it be to late?

I really liked the characters in this story. I think they had great character development. JD comes off as an ass but he really does have a good heart. Gabrielle is such a sweetheart but she is also a very strong women.

There are a few parts of the book that could be hard to read if you can’t handle “dark” reads.

I can not wait for the second book to see how this story ends!
