Sinners of Saint Series

The Sinners of Saint Series has 5 books.

Defy is a novella and the only book I haven’t read yet.

Since I have read the rest of them and they are all full length novels, I am going to go ahead and do this blog.

My average rating of this sereis is:  4.25 stars

Emilia

They say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it’s true. The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares. He is a brilliant lawyer. A skilled criminal. A beautiful liar. A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.

Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t leaving until he takes me with him.

Vicious

She is a starving artist. Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom. Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down. She paid the price.

Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate. That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn’t. So she hates me. Big fucking deal. She better get used to me.

My Review: 4 stars

So I actually read Trent’s book before this one but I still didn’t know a lot about Vicious.
I can honestly say that I hated Vicious for about 80% of the book. I don’t want to say why I hated him, but I did. Once I understand him more, I didn’t hate him, but he’s definitely not a favorite of mine. With that being said, I did still enjoy the book. I plan to read the other books in this series and more from this author.

Blurb:

Rosie

They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.

Dean

They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.

My Review: 4 stars

22833095.jpgThis was a good book. Dean and Rosie had a very interesting relationship. Everything started years ago when Dean dated Rosie sister but he always had eyes for Rosie. Rosie always had feelings for Dean but never wanted to cross that line because he had dated her sister. When the stars align, astronomy is a part of this book, and they end up close together, who knows what’s going to happen. This book had a bit of a mystery in it and when I was trying to figure out the mystery I was totally wrong. This is the fourth book I have read by this author and I will continue to read her work.

Blurb:

They call him The Mute for a reason.
Hard, cold and calculated, he rarely speaks.
When he does, it’s with disdain.
When he does, his words aren’t meant for me.
When he does, my stomach flips and my world tilts on its axis.
He is thirty-three.
I am eighteen.
He’s a single dad and my father’s business partner.
I’m just a kid to him and his enemy’s daughter.
He’s emotionally unavailable.
And I am…feeling. Feeling things I shouldn’t feel for him.
Trent Rexroth is going to break my heart. The writing isn’t just on the wall, it’s inked on my soul.
And yet, I can’t stay away.
A scandal is the last thing my family needs. But a scandal is what we’re going to give them.
And oh, what beautiful chaos it will be

My Review: 5 stars

What a story! This is the first Sinner of Saint book I have read and now I can’t read to go back and read the others.
Edie and Trent have a very interesting relationship.
Edie’s father works with Trent and hates him, but joined knows why. Everyone knows her father is trying to take Trent’s part of the company. Edie’s dad tells her that she has to spy on Trent and do whatever he needs. Edie agrees because her dad is a powerful man and she knows that the people she cares about are in danger if she doesn’t.
Trent is a ruthless businessman. He works hard and plays harder. Trent knows what Edie is doing. But for some reason, he lets her.
What is it about her that he can’t stay away from?
When they cross the line, what will happen? Will Edie continue to spy for her dad? Will Trent let her? What will happen when the lives of others are at risk?

Blurb:

Bane
Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.
Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.
Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.
Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.
Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter
Hot as hell, cold as ice.
I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.
She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.
She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.
More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.
Little does she know, I have the teeth for it.

*This book contains material that might be offensive for some or elicit a strong emotional response.

My Review: 4 stars

WARNING: This book had triggers and if you need a warning this book might not be for you!

Roman ‘Bane’ Protsenko is a liar, a con, a thief, a whore. Someone you can’t trust as far as you can throw him.

25445927Jesse Carter is a lost nine-teen year old girl. After going through a traumatic incident two years ago, Jesse is a ghost of the girl she used to be.

When Bane is tasks with the job of bringing Jesse out of her shell in return for money he needs for a project, he thinks he can accomplish it with no issues. Problem is part of agreement is he can’t have “relations” with her.

What happens when Jesse starts to be her old self and Bane can’t stay away? What happens when Jesse start to remember parts of her past she blocked out and realizes everything is not what it seems?

This story is about finding yourself again. There were parts of this story that were hard to read. But those parts made the story have more meat and heart.

L.J. Shen did an amazing job writing this story. She was able to make me connect with both main characters and told this story in a beautiful way.

AWESOME JOB!!

Blurb:

Defy is a smutty, insta-love, insta-lust short novella. Defy is a prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). It is recommended, but unnecessary, to read Defy before reading Vicious.

My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make.
I slept with my student, a senior in high school.
Multiple times.
I had multiple orgasms.
In multiple positions.
I slept with my student and I enjoyed it.
I slept with my student and I’d do it all over again if I could turn back time.
My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal’s office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.
My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.

Yeah, she’s a badass like that.
